Once testing is complete, every design file and software build will be available for builders, researchers, educators, and coaches to use, study, and evolve.

Hardware design files

The BallBOPPer mechanical CAD, wiring diagrams, and bill of materials will soon be published so builders can fabricate, inspect, and improve the rover, launcher, and reloader modules.

Software

Embedded software code

The BallBOPPer launcher has a Raspberry Pi 5 SBC and two Raspberry Pi Pico boards. The Rover also has a Raspberry Pi 5 SBC and one Raspberry Pi Pico. The control software that runs on each of these devices is being tested and will be available soon.

Vision AI Models

The BallBOPPer system uses two cameras on the Launcher that provide tracking information used in making ball launch decisions, and two cameras on the Rover that provide navigation and positioning information. The AI models used by these cameras is being tested and will be available soon.

Tennis simulator and solver

The Tennis Simulation 4D software is a discrete, physics and geometry-based tennis simulation and evolutionary search system used to explore tennis shot selection tactics and strategies through large-scale stochastic self-play.

Open Licensing

License agreement

The platform is released under an open license that allows non-commercial and commercial use, modification, and redistribution, provided that derivative work carries the same freedoms and attributes of the original research.
