Hardware design files

Hardware designs come in three forms:

• 3D models that are intended to be printed in an engineering material
• 3D models that are intended to be CNC'd out of aircraft quality aluminum
• 3D models that are intended to be CNC'd out of flat sheet plastic

For 3D printing, we have always used Polycarbonate. Many 3D printed plastics will shatter into a million pieces when dropped by accident. We opted for polycarbonate after watching a demo of a 3D printed polycarbonate hook being used to lift a 2000-pound pallet. That is the kind of strength needed for these engineering quality parts.

We will have more information on 3D printing polycarbonate. The strength of the material does make it harder to print.

Unfortunately, they aren't going to make a whole lot of sense yet. We will be adding some assembly models shortly that will show how the parts go together for each component.

The CNC aluminum parts are framing parts and those files will be uploaded soon.
