Tactical Tennis Solver
The Tactical Tennis Solver is all about your tennis decision making. It is set up to play shots, points, sets and matches more like chess than tennis so that you can evaluate each and every decision you make and understand the impact of those decisions.
The Tactical Tennis Solver is a physics and geometry-based tennis simulation app. Nothing to do with biomechanics - more about cogno-mechanics, or the mechanics of your decision making.
It is essentially a chess version of tennis - played on a chess like grid with chess like pieces, and plenty of time to make the three key decisions for every shot:
- where to intercept the incoming shot
- what shot to hit in return
- where to move to defend the next shot
You can play against the model, against yourself, and eventually, you will be able to play against another player. And the app provides statistics on each and every decision you make.
But the Tactical Tennis Solver is not quite ready for prime time.
The physics and geometry-based "evolutionary" simulation has now run for 50 generations, 250 million points and over 1 billion shots - but we still need to hook it up to the web app that will ultimately appear here. This should not take very long, so keep an eye on this space.
